Do you or someone you know suffer from an obstructive sleep disorder? Have you or someone you love been formally diagnosed with a condition called sleep apnea? If so, you likely understand the impact that such a condition can have on the quality of life.

Fortunately, there are several treatment options available to deploy immediately, one being the use of a Positive Airway Pressure device or PAP device for short.

Simply put, PAP therapy utilizes standard air pressure compression techniques in order to ensure that airways remain open during the duration of a night’s rest, preventing interruptions in breathing that would otherwise lead to a host of health complications.

Within the PAP device category, there are two primary types of devices worth mentioning:

CPAP/APAP Devices

BiLevel Devices

At its most basic, these devices work by providing a steady and sufficient stream of air pressure via a mask which ultimately helps users to combat and prevent the collapse of the airway.

The result? A restful and uninterrupted sleep!

Whether you’re looking for a compact travel device or a feature-rich unit with advanced tracking capabilities, we here at Breathe Well have you covered. Our dedicated team of certified professionals is here to ensure that you receive the perfect equipment tailored to your individual needs.

CPAP Devices We Carry

Otherwise known as a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure device, CPAP devices are widely known in the community to be the gold standard of obstructive sleep apnea treatment. While not appropriate for all severities of sleep apnea, CPAP devices are a great implement for those suffering from moderate to severe sleep apnea.

Delivering a constant stream of air pressure to the user, a CPAP device keeps the airway open, thus preventing any interruptions in breathing that can lead to snoring, fatigue, and other related health impairments.

We understand that choosing the most appropriate CPAP machine for your unique needs is crucial to improving overall sleep health. That’s why we are proud to offer a range of CPAP devices, each accompanied by its own unique features and benefits. Our selection includes:

BiLevel Devices We Carry

Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BiLevel) machines are another popular type of PAP device, largely known for its air pressure delivery method. Providing the user with two distinct levels of air pressure throughout the breathing cycle, a BiLevel device is particularly effective for patients with respiratory conditions such as COPD, hypoventilation syndrome, and central sleep apnea.

At Breathe Well, we offer three models of BiLevel devices, each customizable to your unique demands. Here to guide you through the selection process, below is our selection:

Resmed V Auto

Evident in its name, the Resmed V Auto is an auto-adjustable BiLevel device that uses its own algorithm to ensure appropriate air pressure is being emitted throughout the duration of the sleep cycle.

Features

  • Comfortable. Climate Control automatically delivers therapy at the most comfortable temperature and humidity levels, with no settings to change or complicated menus to navigate.
  • Dependable. Vsync continuous leak management enables reliable delivery of therapy pressure while maintaining patient–device synchrony.
  • Easy-Breathe. Easy-Breathe pressure waveform mimics the wave shape of normal breathing and replicates it for your patients’ breathing comfort.
  • Customizable. TiControl™ lets you set limits on patient’s ideal inspiratory time to encourage spontaneous breathing.
  • Adaptable. The AirCurve 10 VAuto is designed to be compatible with up to 4 L/min of supplemental oxygen in all modes.
  • Remote-ready. Cloud-based AirView™ patient management system lets you access nightly data, troubleshoot and change device settings remotely.

Resmed iVAPS

From auto-adjusting pressure to real-time data reporting, the Resmed iVAPS is an all-in-one machine for those looking for a comfortable personalized ventilation device.

Features

  • Provides personalized non-invasive ventilation (NIV) for respiratory insufficiency
  • Intelligent Backup Rate (iBR) maximizes the freedom to breathe spontaneously
  • Intelligent Volume-Assured Pressure Support (iVAPS™ *) automatically adapts to changes in breathing
  • ResMed AirView™ for Ventilation provides enhanced clinical data on a new platform designed to streamline the therapy process

Resmed ASV

Using its own algorithm to learn the patient’s unique breathing patterns, you can rest assured a good night’s sleep every night with the Resmed ASV.

Features

  • Stable. Minute Ventilation (MV) calculates tidal volume and respiratory rate over 13 points in each breath cycle, the minute ventilation algorithm rapidly adapts to changing ventilation needs automatically adjusting pressure support to break the cycle of hypoventilation and central events.
  • Comfortable. Easy-Breathe waveform recreates the natural inspiratory and expiratory cycles within the patient’s breath, delivering a smoother and more comfortable breathing experience.
  • Humidified. Climate Control delivers constant, comfortable temperature and humidity levels with the goal of increasing compliance by minimizing common side effects of therapy.
  • Adaptable. Supplemental oxygen compatible with up to 15 L/min of supplemental oxygen in CPAP and ASV modes and up to 4 L/min in ASVAuto mode.
  • Automatic. Auto-adjusts pressure for OSA events ASVAuto mode includes automatically adjusting EPAP to respond to changes in upper airway stability throughout the night.
  • Dependable. VSync constantly monitors the flow so that if an unintentional mask leak occurs, the device can quickly compensate for the leak and maintain breathing synchrony.
  • Remote-ready. Compatibility with AirView™, our cloud-based patient management system, offers access to nightly therapy data and the ability to remotely manage and troubleshoot.

Have questions about PAP devices? We have answers.

How do I determine which PAP device is most suitable for my needs?2023-04-04T16:51:32-02:30

We can help guide you through the entire process, from identification to selection. We do so by taking into account the uniqueness of your circumstance, your ideals and preferences, as well as your overall lifestyle.

Do I require a prescription to purchase a PAP device?2023-04-04T16:51:08-02:30

Yes, a referral from your physician is generally required to purchase any PAP device. We can work with your personal physician to ensure the appropriate prescription is, in fact, being prescribed.

What’s the difference between a CPAP, BiPAP, and an APAP machine?2023-04-04T16:50:25-02:30

On a macro level, each type of PAP device provides and delivers a unique level(s) of air pressure. On a micro level, a standard CPAP device delivers continuous air pressure, a BiPAP device delivers two distinct levels of air pressure, and an APAP device allows for the automatic adjustment of air pressure based on a patient’s breathing patterns.

How do I clean my PAP machine?2023-04-04T16:49:48-02:30

It’s best to follow the manufacturer’s manual. At its most basic, this is likely to involve the disassembling of the device itself, the cleaning of individual components, and an allowance for air drying before use.

How often should I clean my PAP machine?2023-04-17T22:53:30-02:30

It’s recommended that you wipe down your PAP mask daily and wash the water chamber, hose, filter and mask weekly to prevent the buildup of bacteria and other contaminants.
